6th Doctor - The Ultimate Adventure by fourth-heir 6th Doctor - The Ultimate Adventure by fourth-heir
The 6th incarnation of the Doctor, attired in the darker outfit that he wore in "The Ultimate Adventure" live stage show after leaving the television series.

Some of you may recognise that this is an older custom reworked for greater accuracy since I acquired some far better reference images of the outfit. ;)

What cat pin did you base this off of?

I read somewhere that fans had sent Colin many cat brooches over the years and that he'd shown his gratitude by wearing a different one on stage each night with this costume so I took the opportunity to design one of my own.

I had heard the same, and had even seen a few online. It's funny, I always wanted to make Colin a custom Cat Brooch myself, basically just one where the cat is wearing 6's coat...

This has to be my favourite version of Six's outfit.

I feel like I'd want one IF I knew the price...

Prices vary wildly since I sell my figures via ebay :) The most I ever got for one was the Character Building "Unearthly Child" 1st Doctor. Maybe I should stick to them - they're less work than the 5" chaps ;)

Do you have an estimate price range for the Character Building figures?

Hard to say - those I've sold have ended up going from anywhere between 5.00 and 50.00 - it all depends on how much the buyers want a particular figure.

What do you use to do the fine lines on CB figures?

It varies - either a fine waterproof drawing pen or small paintbrush. You can generally guess which technique was used on a figure by the appearance of the line. :)

And can wear more than recoloured outfits.

All I'm going to say is that this is much less retina-burning than the original costume. :)

It's probably more vivid than the TV costume really - it just uses a less discordant colour pallette :)

Nice job :)
How much customisation goes into these, is it just the colours or is there other stuff involved?

It depends on the figure - this particular one is just a straight repaint of the standard release [link] - others are pieced together from multiple figures and even involve my own sculpting work where necessary. :)

I like how you've got a couple smaller shots from different angles now, I hope I can expect more of that.

Actually, if you're stuck on a next custom to do, the Terror of the Vervoids Six figure is really really innacurate, you could fix the weird white bits and the deep pink bits and everything.

I have back-shots of the figures where it was worth taking such - maybe I'll edit them in for you some day ;) I still have another half dozen costume designs from various sources yet but I might overhaul the Vervoids as well
